KNOWS THE IMPORTANCE OF DIGITAL DETOX

KNOWS THE IMPORTANCE OF DIGITAL DETOX

In Today's world, we can see many people glued to their mobiles and on various social media. By this, we are indulging lots of time playing games, or surfing which is somewhere affecting our emotions unknowingly and also wasting a lot of time. We have to save time. Keep in mind that the time spent never comes back. Our government has taken some steps to facilitate and move forward. It should be our endeavor that supports our government and use our knowledge.

That is why I brought up the new topic of "Digital Detox". A digital detox will teach you how to avoid failure and use your time in the right place.

A Digital detox refers to the period of time a person refrains from using technical devices such as smartphones, TVs, Computers, Tablets, and Social media sites. "Detoxing" from digital devices is often seen as a way to focus on real-life social interactions without distraction. By moving to digital devices, at least temporarily, people can let go of the stress arising from constant contact.

Before you decide whether it is right for you, consider some possible benefits and ways of doing a digital detox.

There are some things we find, then we do, and sometimes some people do it unknowingly. I will tell you some points, it might reflect you in the same situation.

Take Care of Your Body. Sometimes because of us, the body has to pay a high price. Use the 20-20-20 rule to combat digital eye strains, which can cause dryness, blurred vision, and headaches. Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and focus your eyes at least 20 feet away. Also, don't forget to blink!

Prevention is important when it comes to Text Neck. The following recommendations of a systematic review of Text Neck should be kept in mind when using smartphones or other handheld devices:

1. Avoid excessive use and take frequent breaks

2. Avoid holding large or heaving equipment in one hand for long periods.

3. Avoid prolonged posture

4. Position the device in such a way that it reduces stress on both the head/neck and upper extremities.

5. Avoid high repetitions of movements like prolonged typing or swiping.

Turn Off Your Device Notifications, it distracts you every time. Getting frequent updates on what is happening in the world is informative - but it can also be distracting. "If you're allowing yourself to be interrupted five times in a half-hour, you never really focus on that time".

One of the easiest charges to gain control of your focus is to turn off notifications from email, instant messaging, and other apps. Notifications and alerts are closed to grab your attention as to what you are doing so that you can hold your phone again.

In other words, other people or companies control your attention because they can interrupt you at any time. All they have to do is send you a message or post a new one, and a notification will come to your phone to grab your attention.

Each piece of information opens a loop that desperately wants to close. The psychological pressure to close this loop is very strong. Before you know it, you have lost 15-20 minutes of time due to a notification.

Remember, notifications have only one purpose: to suck you into one app so that you spend more of your time and attention there. By allowing notifications, you interrupt other people or companies (Facebook, Instagram, What's app, Twitter, YouTube) whenever they want.

Keep Your Phone Away During Meals. If you are eating, whether it is at home, at a friend's house, or in a restaurant, you should silence your cell phone. Answering and holding conversations while eating or at the dinner table is considered rude behavior and yet, research shows that, even if we are not checking our phone, just being at the table during a convo the quality of conversation can be reduced - our brains are just waiting for its light, and as a result, we are not fully present. "The more energy we direct towards our equipment, the less energy we direct into the room with us".

Build a Technology-Free Bedroom. The bedroom is for sleeping and not for office work. Avoid the blue light at bedtime. Turn off all your appliances and keep them outside the bedroom. There will be a lot of difference in your sleep, you will feel refreshed in the morning. You need 7-8 hours of sleep. If you want to know more then see my post... How to get better sleep

If you are a newly married couple, you must give time to your life partner. If you are with mobile and laptop then how will your life partner talk. So unless you keep the device out of the way, you will not be able to talk to one another.

Reduce Ebook Reading. In recent years, print books have seen a resurgence, and for good reason - they may be better for your brain and health according to science.

Readers of print books absorb and recall more storylines than readers of e-books, in an earlier study, print readers also scored higher in other areas, such as empathy, immersion in a book, and fiction. understanding of in other words, seeing and feeling how much you have progressed in the story, based on the waxing and waning pages on both sides of the book, can help readers feel that they are telling the story informally and figuratively connecting the two. Also, with a print book, it is easy to go back and confirm information that you can be unsure of without losing your place and scrolling or clicking back to your mobile device or tablet.

Given that many jobs require you to stare at a computer screen all day, pause your eyes whenever you can. Electronic books can cause screen fatigue, causing blurring, redness, dryness, and irritation. With print books, you don't have to worry about any of them.

When you are curled up for the night, reading from the screen or scrolling through the social media app on your phone is a bad idea. Study after study has shown that blue light from your screen can play with your melatonin levels and circadian cycles, making it harder for you to fall asleep and groan when you wake up. In general, however, the engagement and brain activity that comes with reading can help you drift off to sleep when you have trouble. So if you are expecting a good night's rest, then stick with the print.
